the holistic therapist directory

Finding the right support for your healing journey is one of the most important steps you can take. You deserve someone who sees you holistically: physically, energetically, mentally and emotionally, spiritually, and communally.

Every practitioner listed in this directory is a graduate of The Holistic Therapist Academy, where healing is approached through all five of these layers. This means our practitioners are trained not just in clinical frameworks, but in integrative modalities including yoga, breathwork, holistic healing, energy healing, and the power of affirmation and mindset work. They are equipped to meet you in all of who you are, not just the presenting problem.

This directory is your assurance of quality, not a governing body, but a community of healers who have done the work and are committed to bringing a truly holistic approach to every person they serve.

Here's how to find your fit:

Looking for a licensed therapist or counselor? Browse by state below. Licensed mental health professionals are only able to provide therapy services in the states where they hold licensure. If you are located in their licensed state, reach out directly to begin the conversation.

Interested in coaching, healing and wellness services? Coaching, holistic wellness, and healing practices such as yoga, sound healing, breathwork, and energy work are not bound by state licensure. Many of our practitioners, including licensed therapists, also offer these services and can work with you regardless of where you are located. Reach out directly to learn what they offer.

  • Brietta Looney

    LCSW

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the founder of a virtual therapeutic practice rooted in curiosity, care, and connection. I entered this field over ten years ago driven by a genuine desire to better understand myself and others, and to create spaces where people feel safe enough to do the same.

I’ve always been drawn to the ways our experiences—especially the ones we carry quietly—shape how we think, feel, and move through the world. My work is centered on supporting clients in exploring those layers with compassion and without judgment.

As a Black woman, I also understand that seeking support is not always simple. Many women of color have been expected to be strong, self-sufficient, and resilient, often while carrying unspoken stress and responsibility. I aim to offer a space where you don’t have to hold everything together or translate your lived experience...you can simply arrive as you are.

    PsyD, Licensed Psychologist

POPULATION SERVED: Black Women's Mental health, Anxiety, Depression, adjustment concerns and racism-based trauma

I’m Dr. Candyce, a holistic psychologist, sound healer, and trauma-informed facilitator dedicated to helping individuals reconnect to their bodies, release what no longer serves them, and rediscover their wholeness.

My work blends traditional mental health approaches with integrative, body-centered practices like breathwork, restorative yoga, and crystal sound bowl healing. Through this mind-body connection, I help clients find regulation, resilience, and renewed purpose. Healing isn’t just about managing symptoms, it’s about coming home to yourself.

As someone who has personally navigated burnout, I understand the importance of slowing down, listening inward, and “drinking as you pour.” I bring this philosophy into my practice, offering compassionate, faith-rooted, and culturally sensitive care. I honor both science and embodiment practices, inviting others to ground, release, and reconnect to their values and vitality. I believe healing is not only possible, it’s holistic, and it happens best when we are seen, supported, and empowered.

In addition to individual therapy, I facilitate therapeutic groups centered on identity exploration, values clarification, and healing for Black women. I also offer wellness workshops that invite you to experience healing through sound, movement, breath, and community connection.

I would be honored to support you in creating the life your soul is longing for.

  • Arien Conner

    LCSW

POPULATION SERVED: Women, Women's issues, anxiety, self-esteem, boundaries, life transitions, trauma

I know what it’s like to question yourself at every turn, making growth difficult and scary. To feel alone in your struggle and doubt that it could ever change. I didn’t feel like I was enough and this showed up in all aspects of my life.

After years of doing my own work through therapy, clinical training, doing all the self-help things, leaving toxic relationships, and reconnecting with myself through my own soul care practices, I finally started to shift my perspective.

This is why I am so passionate about helping guide and support women to reconstruct their beliefs about themself and develop acceptance from within.

I’ve spent years trying to figure it out. As a holistically trained, trauma-informed, licensed therapist who’s been through some shit, I can tell you that it is possible and you don’t have to do it alone. I can help.

I enjoy working with women to manage and overcome feelings of low self esteem, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, anxiety and trauma, and to claim their life back after a significant change like a break up. I'm dedicated to help self-doubting women work through the shit that keeps them stuck using mind, body, and soul approaches so they can nurture their inner worth.

    All STATES

POPULATION SERVED: Chronic Illness Management, Stress Relief, Mindset Coaching, Self-Care Coaching, Anxiety, Depression

Martina Marquez Trimiew is an Atlanta-based holistic practitioner committed to the health, healing, and happiness of people of color. She is a Registered Nurse, Holistic Health and Wellness Coach, and also holds certifications as a yoga teacher, breathwork and meditation guide, and sound healer. Martina is the creator and owner of Afrotanica LLC, a holistic healing service and botanica that offers health and self-care coaching, breathwork and meditation sessions, wellness workshops, and private yoga classes. Afrotanica also features an assortment of crystal jewelry, handmade by Martina, along with energy tools and much more.

A former cardiovascular ICU nurse, Martina has years of experience caring for the hearts of patients post open-heart surgery. After struggling with anxiety, depression, and PTSD related to career burnout, she decided to leave the bedside to focus, instead, on the prevention of chronic diseases through lifestyle change, mindset transformation, and holistic (mind-body-spirit) healing. Today, Martina continues to care for the hearts of clients and patients, only now she helps them heal from what she calls “emotional heart disease”. Inspired by her own healing journey, Martina created Afrotanica to provide BIPOC with trauma-informed holistic wellness services in order to improve their quality of life and heal intergenerational trauma.

  • Annelle Taylor

    WHNP, ANP

States Served : New York as an NP and all 50 states as an Entrepreneur

POPULATION SERVED: All people with any history of a uterus and Adults + Folx working in healthcare affected by burnout, stress, and systemic oppression.

ANNELLE TAYLOR (MSN, NP-C, WHNP-BC) (She/her) is originally from Mississippi and currently lives in NYC. She completed the MSN program in Women’s Health and Adult Primary Care at the Yale School of Nursing in 2010. She works as an NP at the Bronx Health Collective at Montefiore Medical Center (BHC) where she’s been joyfully working with her phenomenal co-workers and the good folks of the South Bronx for over a decade.

A cancer diagnosis in 2018 led Annelle to realize that in order to truly heal, she would need to engage in methods and actions to dissolve and resolve her own internalized paradigms—namely white supremacy—via the language and actions of trauma-informed collective liberation based in anti-racism ideology. She believes that we are not well until we are all well and we cannot heal or ever fully dismantle our own internal systems of oppression and those that divide us systemically until we name the way we are implicit in said systems of oppression and start really listening to each other in brave spaces.

The Healing Circle for Healthcare Workers was imagined in conversations (and lots of listening) with her co-collaborators, the amazing and magnificent Nurse Sara Voltaire, Mr. Robert Jackson, and Dr. Ricky Qadeer, who helped originate this space and idea. The deep dive program she’s currently creating called Medicine Womxn was alchemized from the deep medicinal teachings and understandings she’s been honored to receive since childhood and will be a program for anyone who identifies as Womxn working in healthcare to heal, resolve, and release burnout.
