June Is for Healing and You Are Included

There comes a point where surviving is no longer enough.

Where pushing through, staying busy, holding it all together, and constantly pouring into everyone else begins to catch up with the body. The nervous system becomes overwhelmed. Rest feels unfamiliar. Joy feels distant. And somewhere along the way, we forget that we deserve care too.

This month, I want to invite you back to yourself.

June is about slowing down, reconnecting to the body, and exploring what it truly means to walk a holistic path to healing.

So many of us were taught that healing only happens in the mind. We learned how to think differently, analyze differently, and cope differently. But the body has been part of the story the entire time. The body carries stress. The body remembers grief. The body responds to overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, trauma, and emotional exhaustion even when we try to push past it.

A holistic path to healing means tending to all of it.

The mind.
The body.
The heart.
The energy.
The spirit.
The community.

Healing is not just something we intellectually understand. It is something we practice. Something we embody. Something we slowly allow ourselves to receive.

And if you are someone who spends your life caring for others, holding space, supporting clients, raising children, leading communities, or showing up for everyone else first, I especially want you to hear this:

You are included in the care too.

You deserve to be nourished.
You deserve rest.
You deserve support.
You deserve softness.
You deserve healing beyond survival mode.

One of the things I have learned both personally and professionally is that healing often begins with safety. Safety in the body. Safety in community. Safety in slowing down long enough to notice what we actually need.

This month we will be exploring nervous system regulation, somatic healing practices, breathwork, gentle movement, mindfulness, sound healing, and holistic approaches to emotional wellness. Not from a place of perfection, but from a place of compassion and curiosity.

You do not have to have everything figured out to begin.

You simply have to be willing to return to yourself.

This Month’s Affirmation

I am honoring all layers of me. I take the time to tend to every aspect that makes me whole. I am worthy of the time it takes to nourish my body, mind, heart, energy, spirit, and connection to community. I am honoring all layers of me.

Take a moment to breathe that in slowly.

Not just mentally.
Let it land in your body.

A Reflection for This Season

This month’s journal prompt is simple, but powerful:

What has survival mode looked like in my life recently?

Give yourself permission to answer honestly.

Maybe survival mode has looked like constantly staying busy. Maybe it has looked like emotional numbness, exhaustion, irritability, overworking, people pleasing, shutting down, or struggling to rest without guilt.

Awareness is not judgment. Awareness is information. And information creates space for healing.

Rest Is Sacred Too

One scripture I keep returning to this season is Matthew 11:28:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Rest is not something you have to earn through burnout.

Rest is sacred. Rest is necessary. Rest is part of healing too.

Drink As You Pour: A Holistic Path to Healing

This June, I’ll be hosting a free virtual retreat called Drink As You Pour: A Holistic Path to Healing on Juneteenth.

On a day that commemorates freedom, we will gather together to explore our own freedom too. Freedom from constantly operating in survival mode. Freedom from pouring from an empty cup. Freedom from believing we must earn rest or healing.

Together we will explore nervous system education, gentle yoga, breathwork, sound healing, and holistic healing practices that support regulation, connection, and restoration.
